Winter Clumps

Studio Nocturne continually seeks inspiration from the world under us to inform the office’s work. One such intance in the unique conditions found in the North Cascade Mountains during winter storms. One finds that their depth perseption becomes obscured and the things around them appear as shapes in a Modernist painting. Below is a photographic exploration of that tension between flatness and depth through a typical Picturesque subject, a clump of trees.
