Neal Andrew Barber - Founder & Principal AIA, LEED Green AssociateBorn and raised in Seattle, Neal gained a deep appreciation for the interface between buildings and the natural world from a young age. He is deeply passionate about architecture and its profound impact on our world. When he is not working, he enjoys spending his time with his family, skiing, and whitewater kayaking.
Neal founded Studio Nocturne in 2021, seeking to define a new direction in Pacific Northwest architecture. The English Picturesque, American Realism, The New Topographics, and the landscape of the American West are major influences behind the studio’s work.
Previously, Neal held roles at Marlon Blackwell Architects, Olson Kundig, and Northwest Studio. He received his Master of Architecture from UC Berkeley’s College of Environmental Design.
Neal is a Registered Architect in Washington State.
